UK Market Snapshot Q2 2026

Our Q2 2026 UK Market Update is out drawing mostly on data from PitchBook (a Morningstar company that tracks every aspect of the public and private equity markets), in addition to other cited sources.

Data shows median buyout/LBO deal value fell to £41.9M in 2026 (from £60M in 2025), suggesting investors are being more cautious and favouring smaller deals with less debt attached. Median growth/expansion deal value moved the opposite way, rising sharply to £18.4M (from £9.5M) suggesting a flight to quality, with capital concentrating in fewer, better-understood growth assets. Exit count fell to 62 in Q2 and is near the low end of the last five years.

Regional hubs like Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester are increasingly driving deal flow beyond London.
