Innovative partnership to run director events
December 2006
Directorbank has agreed a joint venture with Bradford University School of Management to run events for the UK’s top directors.
The first one-day event, Increasing your Marketability, is for directors looking for their first non-executive director position and those looking to extend their portfolio, and will be held on Friday, 26 January at the School’s conference facilities in Bradford.
This will be the first of an events programme which will draw on the experience and networks of both organisations to fill a market gap in services available to senior directors with successful executive track records.
As a market leader in finding non-executives for private equity deals and major corporates, Directorbank has in-depth knowledge of the qualities and experience sought by today’s companies.
Elizabeth Jackson, chief executive of Directorbank, said: “The non-executive market is becoming far more sophisticated. This one day conference will enable very senior directors to hone their skills in finding new positions as well as update their legal knowledge on the risks and responsibilities.â€
“We have been very impressed with the Bradford School of Management. They are a top ten European business school and their listed building conference facilities provide a superb venue. We set the highest standards for our events and the School is a very professionally run centre.â€
Professor Arthur Francis, Dean of the School, said: “Directorbank is a very good fit with us. This link will provide valuable new service to our MBA alumni – many of whom are now among the UK’s top directors – and we can add a practical, academic flair to Directorbank’s contacts and expertise.â€
“We have discussed a number of other ideas which we will develop together over the next year.â€
